Here is the story of how Flight Control Decoys came to be. The year was 2015, and I decided to get back into hunting waterfowl after a many-year absence. The problem was that I didn't want to invest a year's wages to get set up; I didn't have a warehouse to store my decoy spread, and the thought of buying a trailer to haul and store decoys made me sick. After a lot of research trying to find the decoys I wanted and could afford, a solution became clear: silhouettes. This style of decoy was making huge noise in the hunting world and making a massive comeback, having evolved from your grandfather's wooden cutout decoys to the most realistic looking 2-D decoys on the market. But which brand? More research was needed to consider quality, ease of setup, weight, durability, storage, and price. The choice was as clear as the sound of a 3 1/2" shell being fired. Hunters were talking about them, and I wanted them: Big Al's Take 'Em Style Decoys. Superior in looks, amazingly priced, lightweight, and extremely effective. The decision was made.
We started emailing with Big Al himself and soon found that our first order of Big Al's decoys was on its way to southern Alberta. When the first decoys arrived, I could not wait to put them to the test. The first time in the field, we put limits on the ground, and we were more than impressed. So we ordered more decoys (more is always better). I was truly addicted to waterfowl hunting again and spent as much time as possible in the field. Over the last few years, we have been taking out former waterfowl hunters looking to get back into it, new hunters wanting to experience it, and, of course, the next generation of future hunters to ensure the tradition stays alive. With every hunt, we always heard the same response regarding how enjoyable the experience was; the unbreakable bonds between hunters formed and the rush of seeing the birds come in like kites on a string... waiting for that legendary phrase, "Take 'Em." Before long, we had people asking if they could buy some of the decoys we used. They all said the same thing: they loved the decoys, but purchasing from the USA was so uncertain. What would the final cost be? What is the exchange rate, and will they get charged duty and brokerage? My own experience was similar to theirs. Soon enough, hunters from Alberta, British Columbia, and Saskatchewan were contacting us and asking if we could get some Big Al's for them. Hmmm...
In July of 2017, with the help of Bobbi Bachman and Tammy Isherwood, Flight Control Decoys and More was born. Since that first email some years ago, a friendship has developed not just with Big Al but with his entire family. We have managed to hunt with each other on several occasions, either in Ohio (home of Big Al's Decoys) or here in Alberta. I can truly say that Big Al is one of the most honest and sincere men I have ever met, and I am very proud to call him and his entire family our friends.
For all these reasons, we are very proud to offer for sale all Big Al's products in Canada, always sold in Canadian dollars.

Tim Jensen
Tim has over 40 years of experience in the field, starting at age 4 by putting a cork gun to use. By age 8, Tim was hunting alongside family with a .410 side by side. As the years passed, the guns got bigger, as did his love for the outdoors. His true passions are his dogs, upland birds, waterfowl, and big game hunting. Tim was the first member to join Team Flight Control and is a welcome addition.
Mike Boles
Edmonton, Alberta
Although Mike was relatively new to waterfowl when he first joined the team, he was already showing great expertise. Mike attacks everything he does with educated excitement. He can be found outdoors year-round, whether it's gathering wild berries and mushrooms, in his garden, ice fishing, or in a blind hunting. Mike does his research and isn't afraid to think outside the box.

Natasha and Derek Wiebe
Saskatoon, Saskatchewan
Natasha and Derek have been hunting waterfowl together for the past 13 years. They've been improving techniques since then and focus on compact but effective methods for decoying geese and ducks. Derek also has a YouTube channel with several good videos ranging from shooting lanes in the field to shotgun and decoy reviews. Check them out as hissinggoose. They have recently gotten into upland hunting as well and are always sure to have their hunting dog, Gander, along with them. They love being outside, whether it's fishing, gardening, hiking, or hunting. Their goal when hunting is to have a great time with friends while harvesting wild game.
Diesel Bachman
Stettler, Alberta
Diesel was born into a waterfowl family and has already accomplished so much at just 14 years of age. He has been around hunting since he was barely old enough to carry a large goose back to his blind. He listens and learns with every trip into the field. When Diesel isn't hunting in a blind, he can be found deer hunting, fly fishing, kayaking, or snowboarding.

Darcy MacMillan
La Ronge, Saskatchewan
Darcy was born and raised in Brandon, Manitoba, before moving to northern Saskatchewan.
When he was 7, he snuck out of his room to see what his dad was packing. It was a side-by-side and a couple of boxes of Imperial Long Range brass shot shells. Dad smiled and said, "Someday I'll take you along." He was hooked.
Fifty-plus years later, Darcy traveled through three prairie provinces to fulfill his passion for waterfowling. In the spring and fall, Darcy could be found with his lab, Sage, at his side and a shotgun in his hand.
Darcy left us in early 2024; he will be forever missed but never forgotten.

Flight Control Decoys offers a 30 day return policy. If you would like to return an item you have purchased, you may do so within 30 days of delivery for a full refund of the purchase price, minus original shipping & handling. Product must be returned in like new condition in original packaging.
If there is an issue with the order or product, Flight Control will make every effort to correct it for you the consumer, however in some cases you the consumer may be required to deal direct with the manufacturer.
